The Climate Change Innovations Hub is an educational research center dedicated to serving underserved communities across the five boroughs in New York City. The Hub provides educational services for these communities with the goal of providing information about the climate crisis and emphasising the importance of being aware, being prepared, and taking action. The Hub also offers online educational services for those unable to transport themselves to the island and others that are not local to New York. In addition to these services, the Hub consists of a variety of researchers, scientists, analysts, among others that study weather patterns, make predictions based on data, develop projects, and more.
MAIN FOCUSES
MATERIALS - Exploring the relationship between lighting and materials.
COMFORT - Allowing employees and visitors to be as comfortable as possible throughout the space while taking in consideration lighting, seating areas, thermal comfort, acoustics, etc.
CIRCULATION - Providing smooth circulation throughout the space for all while still placing a divide between spaces strictly for employees and others for visitors.

MATERIAL CONSIDERATION
CORK - A versatile material that can be used for flooring, walls, and surfaces, and is known for its durability and resilience. Additionally, cork is an excellent insulator, helping to reduce energy usage in buildings.
RECLAIMED OR RECYCLED WOOD - This material is made from wood that has been salvaged from old buildings and structures.
BAMBOO - A fast-growing, renewable resource that is often used as an alternative to traditional hardwoods. Bamboo is a versatile material that is often considered to be more environmentally friendly than traditional hardwoods due to its ability to grow quickly and reach maturity in just a few years.
RECYCLED STEEL - Produced from recycled waste materials. It is a strong, durable material.
ARTICULO - a line of porcelain tiles that are designed to look like vein-cut travertine. This product is made in the U.S. and contains both post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled material.
INTERFACE CARPET TILE - It contains 47% Biobased Content according to Bioprefered.gov and is GreenHealth Approved from HealthCare without Harm. Interface has been GreenCircle Certified for their ReEntry Take Back Recycling program, with their carpets being 65-75% recyclable.
